Small group fellowships—whether focused on Bible studies or on a wide variety of activities—have a tremendous impact on those who participate.

Couples, who are in their 30’s, are welcome to a once a month fellowship group in the evenings. Kids are welcome as we meet in our homes.
 
 
 

 

We believe that it is through small groups that Christians can both enrich their faith journey and have a lot of fun.  We offer a wide variety of small groups.  Here are some of our on-going small groups:

 

Cater Care
Providing meals to families in crisis is the primary service of Cater Care.  Meetings are rare as arrangements are made by phone.

Divorce Care
DivorceCare (DC) is a 13 session program to promote healing after divorce or separation. It is a biblically based program that delivers hope and support for those going through a divorce.  DC will be led by Nancy Ruggaber. The next DivorceCare series will begin on Wednesday, September 7, 2011. The series will run though November 19th. The  sessions will run from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. There is a $20.00 registration fee that includes the workbook. Scholarships are available to cover the fee.

DC4K (DivorceCare for Kids) will be offered at the same times as the Wednesday Divorce care sessions. DC4K is for children, ages 5 – 12, whose parent is going through or has gone through DivorceCare. There is no fee for DC4K, but pre-registration is required. Child care for younger children will be available at the church. Emmaus Fourth Day Community
The Fourth Day Community is open to anyone who has made an Emmaus Walk, a Chrysalis Flight, a Journey, Tres Dias, Cursillo, or any other Three Day Walk. We meet for fellowship, to form Reunion groups, to prepare materials for future Walks, sponsor new Pilgrims, support new Fourth Day, uplift each other and pray for one another.

Family Life
Planning events that involve the entire family, this group meets the needs of both our traditional family and other family units in our church. ~~Contact persons: Nancy Pierson, 330-833-8680

FISH Program
Providing emergency assistance to local community.

Food Baskets
Providing food baskets at Thanksgiving and Christmas for families in need.

GriefShare
GriefShare (GS) is a 13 session program to promote healing after the death of someone in your life. It is a biblically based program that delivers hope and support for those going through the grief process. This year, GS will be led by Cathy Matthews. The next GriefShare series will begin on Wednesday, March 7, 2012. The series will run though May 30th.
Child care is available with advanced notice. There is a $20.00 registration fee that includes the workbook. Scholarships are available to cover the fee. For more information or to register, please call the church office at 330-499-8972.

Men's Breakfast
Men of the church meet the first Sunday of each month at 7:30 a.m. in the small Fellowship Hall for breakfast, fellowship and prayer.  We try to arrange a speaker to bring a relevant message.

Missions
Promoting missions work through fellowship within the congregation.  We discuss potential ways to help the needy.

Prayer Shawl Ministry
2nd and 4th Mondays of the month/1 PM and 7 PM
Making prayer shawls and praying over them – to be given to those who are going through trials in life

Primetimers
This group provides fellowship for those over the age of 50.   We meet at various places; church, homes, parks, theatres, etc., wherever our activities take us. We schedule our activities for the 2nd. Saturday of each month.

Procrastinator’s Club
1st and 3rd Thursdays 9-11 AM; work on those projects you’ve been putting off.  We encourage each other, share a devotion and prayer.  ~~Contact person:  Amy George 330-305-0633

Quilting Circle (UWM) The Quilting Circle is always in need of quilters; young, old, experienced or eager to learn.  Come and gather around the quilting frame any Monday for quilting and fellowship.  The money earned from the quilts is used for mission projects. United Methodist Women
The United Methodist Women provides programs for all ladies of the church and their friends.  You don't have to be a member to attend.  Come and make new friends!  The United Methodist Women is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship, and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. The UMW meets the 2nd Friday of the month at 9:30 a.m. in the church parlor.
