What We Believe

Our Mission Statement

We believe the light of Christ Jesus is God’s message of love, forgiveness, hope and wholeness to all. Our mission is to enable people to know Christ and make Christ known through worship, prayer, fellowship, discipleship and service.

Prayer

In order to grow in a relationship with God, we must communicate. Church of the Lakes offers prayer groups, and a beautiful  prayer chapel set aside for people to come and pray each day of the week.

Fellowship

There are multiple fellowship groups from prime-timers to the youth that help people get to know one another.  Some of the groups consist of thirty or more people while others provide a smaller circle of connection.  Our goal is to connect each member in some form of group to build community and grow in their faith.

Discipleship

In addition to our 9:30 and 11:00am  Sunday school ministry, we also offer a Wednesday night WOW program that helps equip our young people and adults to grow in Christian maturity.  Our Vacation Bible School and Church of the Lakes Daycare Center help extend our reach to the larger community.  We offer a Youth program for junior and senior high students from 7th through 12th grades.  Throughout the week many small groups and Bible studies are conducted in the homes of members.

Service

Our partnership with Habitat for Humanity resulted in construction of a home for a family every year since 1999 including 2010.  We continue to offer hands-on types of mission experiences which include: youth work-camps, confirmation projects, Christmas and Thanksgiving baskets, and partnerships with the Calvary Mission, Steubenville Urban Ministry and the Total Living Center.

An Invitation

Church of the Lakes is committed to making a difference through Jesus Christ in northern Stark County.  We invite you and your family to join us for worship this Sunday to connect with God and grow in fellowship with other people who are striving to be "Christ’s Light for All."
