Lighthouse Sunday School Program

Children in grades 1-4 have the opportunity to experience their Bible story lessons through a different hands-on workshop each week.  Rather than go to the same classroom each week, children come to the small hall and look at the Lighthouse chart to find their classes that Sunday.  During the school year, each class also has an adult shepherd who helps the children find the rooms, and stays with the kids the entire time.

Our workshops are: Break-a-leg Beach (drama), Fish Bytes (computer), Watercolor Rainbow (art), Loaves and Fishes (cooking), Harmony Harbor (music), Discovery Reef (science),
Whale of a Tale (storytelling), All Hands on Deck (puppets), NorthStar theatre (movies), Navigation Station (Bible skills and games), Wind and Waves (creative movement), and Treasure Chest, (a workshop that varies depending on the lesson theme.)

Do you want to help? Teachers prepare just one lesson that they teach for the entire month to different age-levels. You can teach just one month during the year, or as many months as you like.  Contact Janet Zimmerman to volunteer.
