Our Purpose
Is to be Christ’s Light for All. We
believe the light of Christ Jesus is God’s message of love,
forgiveness, hope and wholeness for all.
Our
Mission
is to enable people to know Christ and make Christ known through
worship, prayer, fellowship, discipleship and service.
Our Vision
- Is to be the
body of Christ dedicated to reaching others for Jesus, believing
that lost people matter to God.
- Is to be a
congregation that contains a diversity of people, yet a unity of
purpose.
- Is to be rooted
in a heritage, yet open to changes in the future.
- Is to see lives
transformed in Christ through vibrant worship, Spirit filled prayer,
true Christian fellowship, in-depth discipleship, and acts of
service to the community.
- Is to allow
Christians to exercise their gifts of ministry utilizing a
permission giving network and organization.
At Church of the Lakes, we have five
expectations of all members:
- To attend
worship every week unless you are prevented by illness, job
requirement, or being out of town.
- To pursue at
least one means of growing in your faith in addition to the weekly
worship service.
- To serve in
one area in the church at least once every year.
- To grow
toward a tithe (10%), giving in proportion to your income.
- Pray for our
congregation, leadership and pastor.
The support you can expect Church of the
