*Operation*
The Church of the Lakes Child Care Center serves children ages 2 1/2 through 5th Grade. The Center also provides quality Before and After School Care from 6:30am to 6:00pm. The Jackson Local School System will provide bus pickup and drop-off from the Center to all Jackson Elementary Schools on normal school days. Arrangements must be made with the school when registering your child. We offer small group sizes and a friendly atmosphere. Preschool is conducted from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Monday through Friday plus 12:00 noon through 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. A child must be registered for preschool or child care two or more days a week. Children registered in the Child Care Program in the morning will participate in the AM Preschool Program.

*The goals of the center are:* To help each child become aware of himself/herself as a unique child of God To create an atmosphere of love, happiness and learning To be a model of Christian ideals and cultural values To establish appropriate modes of behavior in social situations To maintain the child’s positive self image To enable a child to understand the principles of sharing in play situations To provide an environment conducive to the development of gross and fine motor skills To help the child achieve a sense of independence appropriate to his/her age level To provide an environment in which a child may develop his/her creativity To aid the child’s development of listening and conversation skills To prepare a child for kindergarten
*Daily Schedule*
Activities in the Preschool vary from day to day. The scheduling, pacing and rhythm of each activity is consistent with recognized principles of early childhood education. These principles recognize that each child develops at his or her own rate within the general guidelines of his/her age group. The curriculum is based on the interest of the child and the resources available to meet those interests. Children are encouraged to share their thoughts and feelings.
